Sez ZionJazz Band was formed in 2001 out of Bridgeport, Connecticut .The band consists of a quartet of great musicians from all walks of life. Each member has their own unique style of play that has become a great asset to the band. Their expertise has catapulted the band to create a very sought after sound to being very well known on the East Coast.
All compositions are original materials written by Sez Zion band members and then smoothed over by music director C. Lamont Williams. Though this is the main forte of Sez Zion, they have no problem remaking a classic into their own unique style of play. Each and every composition is made personal through Sez Zion’s passion, character and life experiences. Their music is created to fit the lives of people of all ages and all walks of life. Smooth piano sounds, heavy bass lines, and silky guitar chords accompanied by a rhythmic beat fills to uplift the heavy heart and ease the troubled mind.
The Bobatoon Collective sound is soulful, passionate and highly improvisational. The 5+ piece Jazz/Funk/R&B band is led and fronted by a tall, towering sax man and vocalist, Khalif Bobatoon and his wife & co-lead singer, Kerie.
They met in college at the Hartt School of Music (University of Hartford, CT), where the late, world renown jazz saxophonist, Jackie McLean chaired the department and mentored them. While their on stage chemistry in school was remarkable, their promise to collaborate together after school manifested years later into having beautifully talented children and a thriving business venture.
The Bobatoon Collective’s mastery of taking “that’s my jam” songs and redeveloping them on the spot has been a dependable trademark for followers of this dynamic fellowship.
Through the hypnotic rendering of hip hop, be-bop, retro-soul and funk, they easily allure their listeners in ways that lift the spirit and raises their consciousness.
